A private company minted this unique, beautiful and hard to obtain set was in 2005 to commemorate the passing of Pope John Paul II.

On the reverse of each medal is a portrait of the Holy Father at different stages in his illustrious life:

2- Pope John Paul II Praying at the Wailing Wall
3- Pope John Paul II Becoming the Pope
4- Arrival of Pope John Paul II in Poland
5- Insignias of Pope John Paul II

Obverses show the Coat of Arms for the private mintage by “Order of Malta”.

This set was not issued by the official Order of Malta but rather by a private mint to commemorate Pope John Paul II.
