Marilyn Monroe was an American actress, comedienne, singer, and model.  Significantly, the former Norma Jean Baker starred in 28 movies grossing $200 million.  Indeed, she starred in Monkey Business (1952), her first time as her trademark platinum blonde.  After, she appeared in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) as Lorelei Lee.  Later, she showcased her considerable comedic talent in The Seven Year Itch (1955).  Importantly, this film has one of the most notable moments in movie history.  In fact, Marilyn stands above a subway grating, the wind from a passing subway blowing her white dress up. 

Noteworthy, she is remembered as a Hollywood sex symbol.  Equally important, she is known for her tragic personal and professional life.  Unfortunately, she died alone by suicide at age 36 in her Hollywood bungalow on Aug. 5, 1962.
