THIS MEDAL IS CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF OF CONSERVATION AND HONORS PRESIDENT THEODOREROOSEVELT
PHILADELPHIA MINT BUT NO MINT MARK
The obverse design features the full figure of Theodore Roosevelt standing on high ground. An inscription above reads “National Wildlife Refuge System” with additional inscriptions to the right reading “Celebrating a Century of Conservation 1903-2003” and “Theodore Roosevelt”.
The reverse design depicts a bald eagle in flight with a treetop background, and the inscription “BALD EAGLE” at the top right.
This hefty bronze medals is 1.5 inches in diameter, with a smooth edge, and is packaged by the Mint in Mylar.
This medal (38.1 mm in diameter) is much larger than a USA quarter (24.26 mm in diameter) and than a USA half dollar (30.61 mm in diameter).
